The beauty of entrepreneurship lies in the diversity of the definition of success. All founders aim to bring forth an impactful solution that tackles a true gap in the market – not an easy feat, but it can look different for everyone!
Today, MINT Incubator by EG Bank in partnership with Acasia Impact is celebrating its very own unique success story, a true collision of brilliance, where two of our alumni are combining forces to best address their collective mission of taking the agriculture industry by storm.
Araby, alumni of MINT Incubator’s 5th cycle, was founded in 2017 by Abdelaziz Elkilany with the aim of creating a B2B agriculture e-commerce platform, gathering hundreds of sellers, buyers, and consumers under one roof with over 100 products, ranging from fertilizers to pesticides and machinery.
It just so happens that the stars aligned for Araby when, through the MINT Incubator network, they crossed paths with Arzaq, founded by Ahmed Samir and Abdelaziz ElKilany, alumni of our 9th cycle. Arzaq is a FinTech startup that works hand-in-hand with ventures in the agriculture space to finance the daily payments of their workforce.
Both game-changers in their industry, Araby and Arzaq found mutual ground to deliver on every entrepreneur’s dream of disruption by every definition of the word. Their collaboration was sparked when Arzaq approached a potential partner, only to find that they also worked with Araby and were equally interested in both their services. MINT’s innovative alumni quickly realized the value of joining forces to quickly invade the agriculture industry.
Once Araby and Arzaq began to study their merger with the support of experts from the MINT Incubator network, they were able to validate the concept and bring their ideas to fruition, creating a more lean, efficient business model for them both. Not only so, but in the words of Arzaq founder, Ahmed Samir, they are now tackling the grand mission of “taking the agriculture industry to the next level with the unwavering technology that it truly needs in Egypt, in addition to fighting poverty by creating and sustaining job opportunities in the sector”.
As enablers of the ecosystem, we thrive at the success of our community and are incredibly proud of the mindset that has been instilled in our alumni. We are excited to be such pivotal contributors to Araby and Arzaq’s story, because, with a journey like theirs, if this isn’t entrepreneurship, then we don’t know what is!
